Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade Students Tell about Christ’s Birth
On December 17, CRICS children presented the story of Jesus’ birth in drama and song to younger children at a Thai school. This is a yearly project, but this year we did it in two parts with the CRICS K-2 department presenting to and interacting with the youngest students at the Thai school. There were 27 K-2 students in our cast and an audience of 50 preschool children.
We used a child appropriate script in Thai to make the message understandable. Several of our songs were sung in both Thai and English.
Giving and Games – a chance to connect
Our students gave a hand-made sheep to each child, and we all bopped along to the peppy tune of “I Just Wanna Be a Sheep.” It says, “I just wanna be a sheep. I just wanna be a sheep. I just wanna be a child of God, walkin’ in the same path he trod. I just wanna be a child of God.” The children had more chances to interact as we sang active Christmas songs and had a game of being sheep that get in and out of “sheep folds.” Our students showed genuine concern for others and served with all their hearts. Their teachers are proud of them for stepping up and shining for Jesus. Way to go!
